WHERE:Sound Academy JUDGES:![]() DERRICK HODGSON Derrick is a Toronto-based artist who uses aspects of cartoon, graffiti and contemporary design. In addition to exhibiting his work around the world, he is the first Canadian artist to be recognized by Sony Creative in Japan where his character illustrations were transformed into 3-D art figures and sold in gatcha-gatcha machines. Leading him to be a key speaker at the Berlin Pictoplasma conference in 2004 and 2006. ![]() HELEN PAK Helen Pak is the CD/Head of Art for Saatchi & Saatchi in Toronto. She has worked at agencies in North America and Europe. Her work in beauty, fashion, packaged goods and automotives have been awarded creatively and recognized as business success stories in North America and throughout Europe. Currently Helen is curating the Lovemarks Love-in multi-media exhibition/book and juggling random design projects. ![]() JUSTIN BROADBENT Artist, Designer, Director, Rapper… Justin Broadbent loves his mom, Elliott Smith, white cats, honesty, the Universe, Biggie Smalls, not type, bad art, words that rhyme, and everything good. ![]() MIKEY RICHARDSON Mikey is a founding partner and co-creative director of the Toronto design firm AmoebaCorp. He works as a designer, artist and illustrator. Mikey is a graduate from (and now instructor at) the Ontario College of Art and Design. ![]() RYAN WOLMAN Ryan thinks the web is the best toy ever. After 10 years as a web pusher, he’s dedicated to making epic creative work that gets results. Ryan’s called several Toronto agencies home, including 10plus1, MacCann, and currently Henderson bas as a lead creative, Ryan has created award winning online campaigns for several clients including Nintendo, GM to Mercedes. TORONTO TEAM:![]() SHAWN PUCKNELL Shawn Pucknell is the director of FITC events, a company that produces Flash/Design/Motion events around the globe. He is also the director of The Rich Media Institute, sits as a director of business for Pixel gallery, teaches part time at OCAD, manages the Toronto Flash User Group (FlashinTO) and owns a Design store called Function13 in downtown Toronto. He was born in Naples, Italy, and he grew up in Rome, where he studied Cinema for two years and he took a degree in Video Design at the European Institute of Design. In Italy he has worked for clients such as Sky Tv, Luxottica, FEFÉ Magazine and GLS (Webby Award 2007). He moved to Montreal in 2006 where he has been working for different companies and he's represented by Swamp.
