![]() This nook in the Northwest, the City of Roses, is the new bohemia.
One of the greenest cities in the world, small-town charm and radical thinking have turned Portland, Oregon, into a creative hotspot. Over the years, Stumptown’s become a central haven for independent thinkers with a quirk and a twist, producing some of the most darkly observant and refreshingly honest talents of our time (e.g., Chuck Pahlahniuk, Miranda July, Gus Van Sant, Matt Groening). Portland rocked when Cut&Paste first visited during the 2007 tournament, and we’re looking forward to whatever kinds of crazy it’s got in store for 2009.
