GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
June 6, 2009 Dear Friends of Cut&Paste, For the past several months, Cut&Paste has conducted 2009 Digital Design Tournament Series with qualifying events in 16 cities worldwide. It's been a very successful Tour with compelling design work and events filled with great spirit and enthusiasm. In the meantime, we've been preparing for our first Global Championship, a gathering of all qualifying designers in 2D, 3D, and Motion Design during the Tour. Over the last two weeks, we have taken all the right steps to obtain temporary visas for a significant number of our overseas competitors who require more rigorous applications and interviews to secure them. It was our impression we would be successful and all competitors would be able to participate in the June 20th event. However, as of last week, we learned that many competitors under application would not receive their visas in time. One of Cut&Paste's primary missions is to ensure all competitors receive their share of the spotlight and be connected to new designers, friends, and professional opportunities. We feel it is important for all qualifying competitors to participate in the Global Championship event. After careful deliberation, we made the decision to reschedule the Global Championship event to the early Autumn in 2009; late September / early October (date TBA).This will ensure sufficient time for all overseas competitors to secure their visas and participate. We expect to confirm the exact date in the next week. As a supporter and friend, we sincerely apologize for the last minute notice and hope you will be able to attend the Global Championship event this Fall. We will continue to update http://www.cutandpaste.com/ throughout the summer to get you prepped for the final event: 48 Competitors, 16 cities, and three Global Champions. Sincerely, Cut&Paste For any other questions or inquiries, please contact Cut&Paste at generalinformation@cutandpaste.com.
